Game summary for July 21, 2020, Classic Quest campaign, Dungeons & Dragons BECMI / RC Edition, for Phoenix Gaming Club. Session included: Darados (Elf played by Casey Scruggs), Garadal Davster (Halfling played by Parker Harmon), Riccon Guerrier (Human Fighter played by Peyton Harmon), Timotei Kiraly (Human Fighter played by Preston Harmon), and Vespasian Thanou (Human Thief played by Chris Harmon). Game Master for this session was Charles Plemons. This was a Roll20 session.
The team fished Vespasian out of the bottom of the pit and devised a plan to get everyone across. After a few minutes, they were able to get everyone over. They crept along for awhile until Darados’ danger sense warned him of imminent problems. He scouted ahead and found a pack of goblins!
The goblins swarmed forward, and Vespasian ended up holding the gap. A large goblin in the back kept reaching into a sack and pulling forth a rock python! He would swing the snake around and hurl it at members of the party! The team put up a valiant fight and killed several goblins, but Vespasian ended up being slain in the constricting coils of a serpent while the rest of the team fell back. They kept firing arrows on the retreat killing more and more goblins. Finally, the leader was cut down, and the rest broke morale and fled. Badly injured and with one of their own dead, the party retreated to safety to make camp and nurse their wounds.
