The rest of the team caught up to the battle with the priestess! Scraggy opened fire with his double-barrel pistol, Zzyym let fly with magic missile, and Helg began channeling positive energy! The priestess struck Crimson but suffered thorn body damage again. Her ring of blades continued slicing into the party, and the team continued to be pushed back by her onslaught. Jiraiya, partially recovered by Helg’s healing, engaged the priestess and hit her with his flail. Khesen fired his crossbow, and then Hekera charged and impaled her! The greatsword dealt horrific damage, and the priestess died nearly instantly.
The group nursed their wounds and looted the bodies. Zzyym and Scraggy investigated the darkness n the temple and found it emanating from an icon of Lolth. They stuffed it into a handy haversack for safekeeping. They investigated a slain sun elf in the temple and decided to take his head for later identification. They beat an obsidian chest into pieces and recovered several scrolls, including one of raise dead. If only there were some way they could have gotten more information from that dead elf.
They then continued to follow the pull of Alton’s ring. They found a kitchen and sniffed out some strong smelling mushrooms in a stew.
